Senior Food Assistance in Southern Nevada

At The Just One Project, we are committed to making sure that no one in our community goes hungry, especially our seniors. As the largest mobile food market in Southern Nevada, we understand the unique challenges faced by older adults, many of whom live on fixed incomes and struggle with food insecurity. Our Senior Food Assistance programs are designed to provide consistent, nutritious food to those who need it most, helping to ensure that every senior in our community has access to the nourishment they deserve.

The Senior Nutrition & Wellness Program

One of our cornerstone initiatives is the Senior Nutrition & Wellness Program. This program, in partnership with the USDA and the Nevada Department of Agriculture, provides monthly boxes of nutritious food to low-income seniors aged 60 and over. Each box is carefully curated to include a variety of food items, such as canned meat, vegetables, fruits, cereal, and dairy products, aimed at supplementing the diets of seniors who might otherwise go without.

Meals on Wheels

For those seniors who are homebound or face mobility challenges, our Meals on Wheels program delivers balanced, nutritious meals directly to their doorsteps. Each week, our dedicated team of volunteers delivers seven frozen meals to eligible seniors, ensuring that they have access to healthy food without the need to leave their homes. This service is not just about providing food; it’s about offering peace of mind and security to our most vulnerable neighbors.

Impact and Outreach

The need for senior food assistance in Southern Nevada is substantial, and The Just One Project is at the forefront of meeting this demand. In 2023 alone, our programs reached thousands of seniors across the region, providing them with the support they need to maintain a healthy and independent lifestyle. Our efforts extend beyond food distribution; we also offer resources such as nutritional advice and community engagement opportunities, fostering a sense of belonging and community among our senior clients.

At The Just One Project, our mission is to connect the community through giving and ensure that no one is left behind. Our Senior Food Assistance programs are a vital part of this mission, providing essential support to older adults in Southern Nevada. By offering consistent access to nutritious food, we are helping to improve the quality of life for our seniors, ensuring they can live with dignity and security. We invite you to join us in this important work by volunteering, donating, or spreading the word about our programs.
