Doubling Fresh Meals for Southern Nevadans in Need

The Just One Project launched the Food Rescue Alliance, a groundbreaking partnership with The Venetian Resort Las Vegas aimed at addressing food insecurity in Southern Nevada. This collaboration repurposes fresh, surplus food from large-scale events, such as conventions and trade shows, held at The Venetian Resort. By efficiently redistributing these meals to individuals and families in need, the initiative has doubled the number of meals available to the community annually.

The significance of the Food Rescue Alliance was highlighted during a White House briefing in February 2024, where Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff recognized the program as one of only three initiatives in the nation making strides toward ending hunger and building healthier communities by 2030. This acknowledgment underscores the innovative and impactful nature of the program, which aligns with the broader national goal set by President Biden.

The Food Rescue Alliance reflects The Just One Project’s commitment to building a stronger, healthier, and more connected community. The partnership with The Venetian Resort not only increases the volume of rescued food but also serves as a model for other organizations looking to address food insecurity through sustainable practices. This program exemplifies how strategic collaborations can lead to significant community impact, providing a roadmap for similar initiatives nationwide.

In addition to food rescue, The Just One Project continues to serve over 20,000 individuals each month through various programs, including mobile grocery distribution and wraparound supportive services. These efforts are part of the organization’s broader mission to provide relief and support to Southern Nevadans facing food insecurity. As the Food Rescue Alliance grows, The Just One Project remains dedicated to expanding its reach and creating more opportunities for community engagement and volunteerism.

Through partnerships like the Food Rescue Alliance, The Just One Project is paving the way for a more resilient and compassionate community, where everyone has access to the food and support they need.
