November Volunteer of the Month

Celebrating Lilia R.!

At The Just One Project, our volunteers are the heart and soul of everything we do. Each month, we honor one exceptional individual who has gone above and beyond to help us achieve our mission of creating a stronger, more connected community. For November, we are thrilled to recognize Lilia R. as our Volunteer of the Month!

Lilia’s Impact on Our Community

Lilia R. has been an invaluable part of our Golden Groceries program, which delivers essential groceries to homebound seniors who cannot access our pop-up markets. It takes a dedicated team of drivers to bring these groceries directly to those in need, and Lilia consistently steps up, especially on our busiest days. Her warmth and friendly spirit make a meaningful difference in the lives of everyone she meets, and her smile is truly contagious. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Lilia for her dedication and for helping us make such a significant impact.

Get Involved with The Just One Project

Inspired by Lilia’s commitment? We’d love for you to join us! Volunteering at The Just One Project is open to everyone, regardless of age. Whether you’re looking to make a difference, build connections, or simply spend time giving back, there’s a place for you here. We offer a variety of opportunities to fit different interests and schedules:

  • Pop Up & Give Mobile Market – Farmers Market
Every month, we serve 10 locations across the community, distributing fresh food to neighbors in need. This program relies on teams, families, and individuals to help unload food pallets, hand out food, and make each market a welcoming place. It’s a great way to work together and serve alongside fellow community members.
  • Grocery Delivery
If you want to follow in Lilia’s footsteps, consider volunteering as a grocery delivery driver. You’ll help bring fresh, nutritious groceries directly to the doorsteps of clients unable to leave their residences. Morning delivery routes typically take 2-3 hours, and each visit makes a tremendous impact on those who depend on this vital service.
  • Food Rescue / Kitchen Prep
Join our sustainability efforts by volunteering in food recovery and kitchen prep. As a food recovery prep volunteer, you’ll help sort and package surplus food, reducing waste and preparing fresh, healthy meals for community members in need. It’s a hands-on way to make a difference while supporting food sustainability.

Volunteering is not just about giving; it’s about being part of a community and knowing that each action contributes to a bigger impact. From teens to seniors, everyone can find a role that suits them and makes a difference.
