Layke Martin, an attorney and public policy professor, serves as the Executive Director of the Nevada Cannabis Association. As the head of Nevada’s leading cannabis trade association, Layke passionately advocates on behalf of the state’s licensed cannabis businesses and the more than 18,000 employees who work in the burgeoning cannabis industry.
Layke is also a part-time faculty member at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she teaches doctoral and graduate-level courses in cannabis policy, public policy agenda setting, and urban leadership. Prior to joining the NCA, she served as the Assistant Dean for External Relations at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law.
Born and raised in Southern Nevada, Layke attended UNLV and Boston University School of Law. She recently served on the board of Emerge Nevada, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in public office through recruiting, training, and providing a powerful network. She has also served on the boards of the National Association for Law Placement and Junior League of Las Vegas, and was the Chair of the 700-member Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Nevada. She has previously been named the State Bar of Nevada’s Young Lawyer of the Year and received Vegas Inc.’s “40 Under 40” Award.
