LAS VEGAS – November 3, 2025 — As the November pause in federal SNAP benefits continues to strain food assistance programs across the state, 8 News Now visited The Just One Project to witness firsthand the growing demand for emergency food support in Southern Nevada.

The story shows cars and families lined up early in the day at TJOP’s Las Vegas distribution site, with volunteers preparing to serve 700 people in a single day—more than triple the organization’s typical daily volume.

“Hunger Has No Face”

In the interview, Brooke Neubauer, CEO of The Just One Project, emphasized the universality of food insecurity and the importance of remaining nimble in times of crisis:

“The Just One Project is always set to serve 200 clients every single day, Monday through Friday. Today, we are getting ready to serve 700 people,” said Neubauer. “One thing I learned very early on in my career fighting food insecurity is that hunger has no face.”

TJOP operates as a distribution partner for Three Square while also running its own mobile markets, no-cost community market, and Community Connect programs that serve Southern Nevada.

Expanded Hours, Expanded Hope

The organization recently expanded emergency food distribution to six days a week across two sites:

🚗 Main Drive-Thru

1401 N. Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–2:00 PM

🛒 Walk-Up Site at Dolores Huerta Resource Center

1737 Hunkins Dr., North Las Vegas
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 4–7 PM
Saturday: 10 AM–12 PM

These efforts are designed to ensure families and individuals affected by the SNAP lapse—particularly those without transportation or access to traditional grocery stores—can receive the food they need with dignity, speed, and respect.

Community Needs You Now

As demand continues to rise, so does the need for donations and volunteer support. Every dollar helps keep shelves stocked, fuel delivery vehicles, and meet the needs of seniors, children, and working families who are suddenly without critical assistance.
