ABOUT THE JUST ONE PROJECT

It Started With
Just One

The Just One Project began in 2014 with a simple belief: it takes just one person to make a difference in the life of another.

What began as a grassroots effort to provide groceries to families experiencing food insecurity has grown into a systems approach to fighting food insecurity — connecting people to food, resources, and supportive services while helping families avoid falling through the cracks and find stability during times of crisis.

As we listened to the people we served, we learned that food insecurity rarely exists on its own. Families were also navigating housing instability, employment challenges, transportation barriers, rising costs, and difficulty accessing resources. So we grew with them.

Today, The Just One Project connects people to food through Food For All and to resources and supportive services through Community Connect. Some people simply need reliable navigation to the right resource. Others need intensive, ongoing case management during a crisis. Our systems approach gives us the ability to do both.

MISSION STATEMENT
“To increase access to food, resources, and supportive services to build a stronger, healthier, and more connected community.”

WHAT GUIDES US

Our Core Values

01

Respect

We honor the dignity, voice, choices, and experiences of every person we serve.

02

Integrity

We lead with honesty, accountability, and transparency.

03

Innovation

We challenge ourselves to find better, smarter, and more effective ways to meet the needs of our community.

04

Compassion

We meet people where they are and lead with empathy in every interaction.

OUR EVOLUTION

Beyond Groceries

Food may be where the relationship begins, but it does not have to be where it ends. Our systems approach connects food access with reliable resource navigation, intensive case management, housing support, workforce development, and other services — reducing the burden on clients to navigate complicated systems on their own.

Food when you need it. Support when life gets complicated. A team committed to helping people find stability.

OUR TEAM

The People
Behind the Work

Many members of our team bring lived experience to this work, offering a deeper understanding of what it can take to ask for help, navigate systems and find the right resources. We pair that perspective with professional expertise, trauma-informed practices and a client-centered approach rooted in dignity and respect.

Our staff, board members, volunteers, donors and partners bring different experiences and expertise to one shared mission: meeting people where they are and strengthening our Southern Nevada community.
